An intimate day lakeside—a Michigan elopement photographer’s dream.
An Intimate Elopement
Karolyn and Peter had both been married before and wanted to have a very intimate wedding with their closest friends and family. It was small, in the middle of the week, at a gorgeous restaurant on the water in Wyandotte—Portfino.
It was such a beautiful reminder that you can make any moment special. Joy and happiness can find us anywhere and anytime.
The best day of your entire life could be a random Wednesday.
Two Hour Bridal Portraits
Karolyn and Peter wanted to have some portraits to look back on and treasure.
Their wedding wasn’t typical, they really just wanted to share a weeknight with their family and didn’t feel like they needed photo coverage of the entire night.
I was so happy to be a part of their day, even though I spent maybe two hours with them.
This was just as spring was budding, so there weren’t many blooms. We found this park with lots of romantic greenery and a sweeping willow. I watched and snapped away as these two shared laughs and smiles and all of those little special moments.
Being a wedding and elopement photographer, I see the importance of having photos to cherish every single day. Karolyn and Peter were able to get that AND keep their elopement very intimate and private.

If you are the kind of person that wants an intentional and private wedding day, setting aside a separate time for bridal portraits is a perfect way to still have the photos to to cherish.
It would even be a fun way to spend an anniversary, taking bridal portraits as a reminder of your day and to capture the love, excitement, and dedication that you have promised for each other.
