The dahlias were in full bloom just for Louise’s flower field senior portrait session.
Louise’s Senior Pictures at Summer Dreams Farm
Louise’s mom reached out to me wanting a golden hour session shoot celebrating Louise’s senior year. She booked a spot for us to shoot at the Summer Dreams dahlia farm in Oxford. Summer Dreams opens up spots during the month of September when the dahlias are in bloom for portrait photography, and Louise’s mom wanted to go all out. She and Louise wanted something elegant that would really capture Louise.
Floral Senior Portrait Photography
Louise has the most beautiful natural red hair and the colors of the dahlia field really complimented it. We talked before the session about the outfits that she had picked out. We coordinated her outfits to compliment her complexion, hair, and the flowers. It all came together so beautifully.
Especially with senior portraits, color and light are so important to take into account. If we have too many conflicting tones, no amount of editing will get us to a harmonious image. Planning ahead of time and taking color and tones into account makes for well balanced, stunning images. If we have conflicting tones, it will end up taking away from you instead of complimenting your colors and making for a shoot that makes you feel like your fabulous self.
Senior Pictures Detroit
It isn’t every day you get to take a client to a flower farm during golden hour!
This entire session was gorgeous. Between the flowers and the glow of the setting sun, we had a dreamy backdrop setting us up for a beautiful and smooth senior session. Laughing and frolicking through the fields, Louise was glowing. Louise and the flowers and this unique session was a real treat.
